All seems calm in Crail

All does seem quiet in Crail just now.
Mum has been advised not to drive (a blessing!) and is slowly understanding this. The DVLA should be in touch soon to say they have received this information.

Dad is getting a little stronger and it still coming to terms with Mum's rapid decline.
They are both heading to Susie and John's for Christmas and Dad is very excited about it. Some company!

Mum and Dad update

Hi all,
Mum was due to be discharged home on Tues . Dad was going to pick her up and a big social care package due to start on Wed. We shall see how that goes.

Opening post

Well here goes..... my first attempt at blogging.

I thought this might be a good way for people to find out about Mum and Dad
The current situation is that Dad is back at home alone and still very weak. Mum is still in St Margarets until further notice. Their social worker returns from holiday today and the situation may change.
Mum's diagnosis of Fronto temporal dementia has been a positive step forward and it gives a good idea of what to expect next. Dad is still struggling to come to terms with this news and realising that he may not be in a position to provide the care she needs, given his own health needs.

There's lots of practical stuff that we're trying to resolve also.
Send them and us kind thoughts.
